-
Keep your home at a steady, comfortable temperature. Avoid making it too hot or too cold.
-
Radiators work best when they’re not obstructed. Try to keep furniture away from them so the heat can spread and keep your home cosy.
-
Get in touch with us if you notice any drafts around your doors and windows.
-
Keep interior doors closed as much as possible. This will keep the heat in the areas where you spend the most time.

We're here for you
Winter can be a difficult time of year for many reasons. The days are shorter and the nights longer, and it can be tempting to stay indoors more, which can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Join us for a free hot drink and meal, take part in an activity, or simply a friendly chat with neighbours and others in your community at our Winter Welcome social events. Our team will be there to answer any questions you might have, give advice and support, and at Gorton Hub we'll have health checks and energy-saving advice on certain dates.
Can't make our events? Don't worry, you can talk to your Neighbourhood Officer if you’ve got a problem or need a chat. You can find out more about our hub drop-in sessions on our Neighbourhood services page. You can also call us on 0330 355 1000 or complete our Contact Us form and a member of our team will be in touch.
