The winter months can be difficult for many of us, having a big impact on our homes and our health. We’re here to do everything we can to support you to get winter ready.

As the temperature drops and we spend more time indoors there’s some things you can do to stay safe, warm and well this winter. We’ve put together a few suggestions that can help:

  • Check your heating and lighting - if you haven’t already, turn on your primary heating source (like your boiler and radiators) Give it up to 30 minutes to kick in and then check that the heating has come on. If you have any issues, please raise a repair with us straight away. This'll help us support all customers who need us.
  • Look out for frozen pipes - frozen pipes can stop your central heating from working properly, leading them to burst and cause damage to your home. This winter, make sure you know how to deal with frozen pipes.
  • Be aware of damp and mould - we set up our dedicated Healthy Homes team to take a proactive approach to resolving any cases of damp, mould or disrepair in our properties. If you spot signs of damp and mould in your home, get in touch with us so we can deal with the issue swiftly.
  • Get wrapped up - wearing several layers of thinner clothing can be more efficient at trapping warm air than one thick jumper, helping you stay warmer when it's cold.
  • Prevent slips - sprinkling cat litter or salt on icy patches around your home can help prevent slips and trips.
