Get crafty this March at our winter social events

Warm up your winter and come along to our free social events in your neighbourhood hubs.

Posted | 20 February 2025

We're excited to announce that following the success of our winter social events, we're extending the programme into March!

Since November, we’ve been hosting these events as an opportunity for you and your family to enjoy a warm and welcoming space this winter. We've really enjoyed playing bingo, doing arts and crafts, singing, and learning macrame with you.

Our March events – what to expect

This March, you’re invited to come along to our neighbourhood hubs where you can enjoy a free hot drink, meal, and try your hand at macrame. At the sessions, you’ll learn how to use the textile knotting techniques to make your own hanging basket – not only that, you’ll get to take it home with a plant to hang in it.

We’ll also have some raffle prizes and goodies for you to take home.

At the events, we’ll also have a range of colleagues, including our Neighbourhood Officers and colleagues from other teams, on hand to help with anything you might need support with. Whether you’re looking for money advice, tips on saving energy, help with tackling and reporting damp and mould, or info about routine health checks, our colleagues will be here to help you face the cold weather!

You don’t need to book; you can just turn up for any of our social events! However, we’re limited to how many spaces we can offer, so make sure you get there early to avoid missing out. We don’t want to disappoint anyone, but once we’ve reached our maximum number, we won’t be able to offer any more spaces, unfortunately.

We're here for you

We know the winter months can be difficult, and we want you to know we’re here to do everything we can to support you, so don’t struggle alone. You can talk to your Neighbourhood Officer at your nearest Neighbourhood Hub if you’ve got a problem or need a chat. You can find out more about our hub drop-in sessions on our Neighbourhood services page.
