Balancing rent, service charges and bills isn’t always simple, and that’s why a repayment plan can help take the pressure off.

Managing rent alongside everyday bills can feel overwhelming, and sometimes keeping up with rent payments can be difficult when life changes quickly.

If you’re finding things difficult right now, a repayment plan could offer you some breathing space and help get things back on track at a pace that works for you.

We know that contacting us about money worries can feel daunting, but you don’t have to face it alone. It’s better to get in touch with us sooner rather than later if you think you’re in arrears with your rent or service charges – we're here to support you and help you feel secure in your home.

Our teams are friendly, understanding, and ready to help you explore your options at a pace that feels comfortable. We can guide you through the support available and can chat to you about putting together a repayment plan that works for you.

Rent Support Plan: a repayment plan designed for you

How it works

Our Rent Support Plan is about supporting you to keep your rent payments manageable and stress-free, helping you stay in control if things are difficult financially. Together, we’ll put together a weekly or monthly payment plan that makes it easier to stay on top of your rent and any arrears.

We’ll use an affordability calculator to understand things like your disposable income, so we can agree a repayment plan that’s right for your personal financial situation.

We’ll also talk to you about any welfare benefits you may be eligible for and we can help guide you through the application process.

How our support can make a difference

In 2021, Ezra* had just welcomed his first child, and with changes to his income, he found himself struggling with rent arrears, so he reached out and we were there to help.

Our team worked with him to set up a realistic and manageable payment plan, giving him a clearer way forward.

Recently, Ezra hit a huge milestone – he’s successfully cleared more than £3,000 in rent arrears. He now feels more confident and is focused on building an even stronger future. Ezra says the support from One Manchester has been both practical and emotional – a steady presence during a really challenging time.
