Priorities for your neighbourhood

Based on your feedback, we’ve agreed the following priorities to focus on in your area.

We’ll keep you informed on our progress on these priorities, a minimum of every six months. We’ll do this in the following ways: In our customer newsletter - Customer Catch-up, at local residents meetings, via our dedicated Community Plans webpage and on social media

These updates will help you see how we’re acting on your feedback and stay in the loop with the improvements happening in your area.

Priority 1: Tackling anti-social behaviour

We’re working closely with local agencies to address issues involving young people’s anti‑social behaviour. We’re also part of the group that selected the new youth engagement service for the area, helping make sure young people have positive support. We’ve secured funding to focus on ASB hotspots, and we’re working with partners to respond to reports of rough sleeping so people can get the right help and support.

Priority 2: Addressing pest issues

We know some residents have experienced problems with pests. We understand how distressing pest issues can be, and we’re committed to tackling the
problem at its source.

We’re working with Manchester City Council and other agencies to tackle these issues and make sure any problems are dealt with quickly and effectively

Priority 3: Increasing visibility in your area

You told us you wanted to see more of us in the area. In response, we’ve reviewed our neighbourhood patches and made them smaller so your Neighbourhood Officer can spend more time in your community and offer a more tailored, hands‑on service.

Other ways we’re visible in your community:

  • We now carry out Tenancy Experience Visits in your home at least once every two years. This gives us a chance to get to know you, understand your home, and talk about anything you need support with.
  • We continue to run Neighbourhood Inspections every two months. During these inspections we walk your neighbourhood, check what needs attention, and record any issues before we next meet. In this plan, you’ll find the dates for your local inspections. You’re always welcome to join us and share what you’d like to see improve.
  • You can also speak to us face‑to‑face at our weekly drop‑ins at Aquarius Centre, where a Neighbourhood Officer will be available for a chat.

You said, we're doing

Over the last few months, we’ve been out in the community listening to you. We held in-person focus groups, workshops and surveys with residents, local groups and partners to understand what matters most in your area.

You told us about:

  • What you like about your area
  • What you’d change or improve
  • How safe you feel day to day

Using everything you shared with us, we’ve agreed the key priorities for your neighbourhood. Below, you’ll see what you told us and what we’re doing in response.

You said:

"We're concerned about fly-tipping in the area."

We're doing:

  • We took part in the Great British Spring Clean, providing three skips to help customers safely dispose of unwanted items
  • Organising regular community clean-up days giving local people an opportunity to use a free skip in the area to get rid of unwanted items
  • Worked with key stakeholders to tackle ongoing fly-tipping issues and keep the neighbourhood cleaner
  • Carrying out neighbourhood inspections every two months, and we'd love you to join us
  • We’ll work to improve our green space service in response to your feedback

You said:

"We're concerned about poor garden conditions at some neighbouring properties."

We're doing:

  • We're taking action on a number of cases where gardens were not being properly maintained.
  • We’ll continue working with customers to address issues that were affecting the appearance of the neighbourhood.
  • We’ll continue to tackle garden maintenance concerns to help create cleaner, more welcoming communities for everyone.
