Priorities for your neighbourhood
Based on your feedback, we’ve agreed the following priorities to focus on in your area.
We’ll be sharing updates on how we progress with these priorities over on our social media channels.
Priority 1: Making sure services in The Village meet your needs
We’ll continue to monitor what’s happening in The Village to make sure activity is meeting expectations and delivering what you need.
We’ll also focus on the Peter Church estate, reviewing the green spaces, running regular clean‑up days and making sure these are well‑advertised.
We encourage you to report anti‑social behaviour so we can take the right action, and we’ll keep working with local organisations to support the area.
Priority 2: Helping customers move to a home that's a better fit
We know some customers in Clayton are living in homes that no longer meet their needs. That’s why we’re raising awareness of the options available if you’d like to move to a home that suits you better.
You can explore:
- Rightsizing: If your home feels too big, hard to manage or no longer right for you, Rightsizing could help you move to a smaller, easier and more affordable home.
- Mutual Exchange: This lets you swap homes with another social housing resident anywhere in the country.
We’re here to help you understand your options and support you through the process.
Priority 3: Creating more ways for you to meet us face-to-face
We know there isn’t currently a community hub where you can drop in and speak to us. To fix this, we’re setting up a weekly drop‑in with our Neighbourhoods, Employment and Skills and Financial Inclusion teams so you can get support in person when you need it.
You said, we're doing
Over the last few months, we’ve been out in the community listening to you. We held in-person focus groups, workshops and surveys with residents, local groups and partners to understand what matters most in your area.
You told us about:
- What you like about your area
- What you’d change or improve
- How safe you feel day to day
Using everything you shared with us, we’ve agreed the key priorities for your neighbourhood. Below, you’ll see what you told us and what we’re doing in response.
You said:
“The environment and look and feel of the area need improving."
We're doing:
- We’ll continue to carry out a neighbourhood inspection every two months in your area. Everyone is welcome to join us and share feedback.
- We’ve made improvements to our green space service after hearing it wasn’t up to scratch.
- We’ll continue working with Manchester City Council and local councillors to keep green spaces well‑maintained and take early action when issues arise.
You said:
"We don't see you enough."
We're doing:
- We visit you in your home at least once every two years for your Tenancy Experience Visit. These visits are a chance for us to get to know you better, understand how things are going in your home, and talk about any support you might need. It’s a simple way for us to stay connected and make sure you’re getting the right help.
- We continue to run Neighbourhood Inspections every two months. During these inspections we walk your neighbourhood, check what needs attention, and record any issues before we next meet. In this plan, you’ll find the dates for your local inspections. You’re always welcome to join us and share what you’d like to see improve.
- You can also speak to us face‑to‑face at our weekly drop‑ins at Gorton Hub, where a Neighbourhood Officer will be available for a chat.
You said:
"There have been issues with anti-social behaviour."
We're doing:
- At Flint Close, we took the action needed to resolve the problems. We’ve also reviewed the local lettings policy to help create a safer, more sustainable neighbourhood for everyone.

Join us as we walk around your neighbourhood and tell us about any issue you have in your local area you'd like us to address.
At Neighbourhood Inspections, we work with you to keep your neighbourhoods looking good. We assess everything from how our facilities are looking to green space upkeep, ensuring everything is in shipshape. These inspections are for reviewing outdoor areas, so if you have issues in your home, contact us or speak to your Neighbourhood Officer who can let the right team know.
Check the Neighbourhoods page to find out the date and meeting point of your next Inspection:
