Priorities for your neighbourhood
Based on your feedback, we’ve agreed the following priorities to focus on in your area.
We’ll be sharing updates on how we progress with these priorities over on our social media channels.
Priority 1: Tackling fly-tipping and rubbish
We’ll focus on reducing fly‑tipping and general waste around Langport Walk and Aked Close, working closely with partners and customers to address the problem.
Priority 2: Improving green spaces
We’ll review how green spaces are used, how they look, and what improvements are needed. We’ll keep you updated as this work progresses.
Priority 3: Reducing anti-social behaviour
We’ll work with key partners and local customers to address anti‑social behaviour and help make the area feel safer.
You said, we're doing
Over the last few months, we’ve been out in the community listening to you. We held in-person focus groups, workshops and surveys with residents, local groups and partners to understand what matters most in your area.
You told us about:
- What you like about your area
- What you’d change or improve
- How safe you feel day to day
Using everything you shared with us, we’ve agreed the key priorities for your neighbourhood. Below, you’ll see what you told us and what we’re doing in response.
You said:
“We don’t see you enough.”
You told us you don’t see us around your neighbourhood as much as you’d like, and that you want more one‑to‐one contact with our team in Ardwick.
We did:
- We now carry out Tenancy Experience Visits in your home at least once every two years. This gives us a chance to get to know you, understand your home, and talk about anything you need support with.
- We continue to run Neighbourhood Inspections every two months. During these inspections we walk your neighbourhood, check what needs attention, and record any issues before we next meet. In this plan, you’ll find the dates for your local inspections. You’re always welcome to join us and share what you’d like to see improve.
- You can also speak to us face‑to‑face at our weekly drop‑ins at Gorton Hub, where a Neighbourhood Officer will be available for a chat.
You said
“Agencies don’t work together, and it causes problems for us.”
You told us that when organisations don’t communicate or work together, it leads to delays, confusion, and frustration.
We did:
- We’ve already started speaking with local organisations about the feedback you’ve shared. We’ll continue building stronger relationships with them so we can work in a more joined‑up way.
- Our aim is to make sure everyone involved understands your priorities and is working towards the same improvements.
You said:
“We really value the free summer fun days.”
You told us how much you enjoy our annual summer fun days and how important they are for families in the community. You can find this year’s dates on the Events Calendar.
We did:
- We’ll continue to run these free family events during the summer months. We’ll also continue to promote these events to as many customers as possible know when they’re happening and can come along
You said:
“We’re worried about how the environment looks and feels.”
You shared concerns about the appearance of green spaces, fly‑tipping, and the general upkeep of the area.
We did:
- We're reviewing green spaces and keeping regular checks in place:
- We’ll carry out a review of green spaces in Ardwick based on your feedback.
- We’ll continue to run Neighbourhood Inspections every two months, and we’d love you to join us. Everyone is welcome.

Neighbourhood Inspections
Join us as we walk around your neighbourhood and tell us about any issue you have in your local area you'd like us to address.
At Neighbourhood Inspections, we work with you to keep your neighbourhoods looking good. We assess everything from how our facilities are looking to green space upkeep, ensuring everything is in shipshape. These inspections are for reviewing outdoor areas, so if you have issues in your home, contact us or speak to your Neighbourhood Officer who can let the right team know.
Check the Neighbourhoods page to find out the date and meeting point of your next Inspection:
