We have an exciting position available for a Major Works Manager to join us! 

You’ll ensure the Major Works Team consistently delivers an outstanding customer experience by driving high levels of performance and service excellence whilst pushing for continuous improvement across all activities that align with the organisation’s vision, values and objectives. Use insight and expertise to lead a proactive Major Works Team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering planned maintenance as well as lead the delivery of a successful, high-quality empty house service by supporting the team to ensure all void properties refurbished to a high standard. You will be leading the development and support the implementation of One Manchester’s response to Awaab’s Law, ensuring teams meet agreed targets while complying with all statutory and regulatory requirements.

What we’re looking for:        

  • Educated to HNC level in a construction-related discipline with a strong foundation in technical and practical aspects of the built environment

  • Comprehensive understanding of the Housing Disrepair Protocol, Building Regulations, HHSRS, Decent Homes Standard, and the Homes Regulatory Standards

  • Computer literate

  • Able to perform effectively under pressure with a forward-thinking and positive approach to problem solving

  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance and construction

  • Proven experience in contracting and negotiating with clients and contractors, underpinned by strong commercial awareness
