School’s out for the summer!

With a typical British summer bringing with it both rain and shine, we know it can be difficult for parents looking for activities to keep the family entertained throughout the school holidays.

That’s why we’ve collated a list of free activities, events and workshops taking place across August for families to take part in, including everything from swimming to family fun days. Check out the list below:

Activities and workshops

Free swimming for under 17s

This summer, swimming pools across Manchester are offering free swimming sessions to under 17s during the school holidays

Free Swimming sessions can be enjoyed at various MCRactive swimming pools across Manchester. Pools taking part in the initiative include;

  • Arcadia Library & Leisure Centre
  • East Manchester Leisure Centre
  • Hough End Leisure
  • North City Family & Fitness Centre
  • Moss Side Leisure Centre
  • Wythenshawe Forum

MCRactive holiday clubs

MCRactive have funded a wide variety of holiday clubs for young people living in Manchester these free clubs include everything from cooking, arts and crafts to watersports and climbing.

Beswick Library workshops & activities

This summer, One Manchester have funded a number of exciting free workshops and activities for adults and young people which will be taking place at Beswick Library, these include:

Loads to do Manchester

The ‘Loads to do’ campaign has collated a list of exciting, fun-packed activities and events that are taking place across the city this summer. From sports activities and outdoor adventures, to family events and arts and crafts workshops, there’s something for everyone!
