At One Manchester we’re passionate about working together to improve lives and help neighbourhoods thrive. We see the difference our work makes in our city and we work together to support our customers and their wellbeing.
As an Income Officer you’ll be dealing with payments and collections, working with colleagues from across our Place teams to contact customers who are in arrears to ensure they make their payments and put steps in place to help this happen. You’ll also provide budgeting advice and help customers get to grips with managing debt, completing financial statements and submitting appeals.
You’ll need to be able to follow the correct legal process to get money owed. You’ll also advise customers about their eligibility for welfare benefits and direct them to specialist support providers – this could be providing face-to-face support either out in the community or from our office base.
You’ll need a good balance of resilience and assertiveness and be able to collect debt proactively and decisively, but always appropriately and sensitively. You’ll be an experienced negotiator and be able to implement and monitor repayment arrangements with customers.
We’re looking for someone who understands legal processes and has a good grasp of the welfare benefits system, including the Welfare Reform Act 2012. You’ll be writing reports and analysing data, so you’ll also need to be computer literate.
At One Manchester, we’re supportive, flexible and rightly proud of our work. We’re also really excited about the future. You’ll get a brilliant benefits package and so much support and guidance. So, join us now and see the difference you can make in our great city.
If this sounds like you then apply today, we’d love to hear from you.
Interviews/assessments will take place from week commencing 20 July 2020.
