Ribbon-cutting celebration as new landlords take stock in Manchester
The stock transfer completion of Hamilton Lodge, a development of 24 social housing flats in Victoria Park, Manchester, was celebrated this week with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by representatives from social housing provider Stonewater, place-making organisation One Manchester and local residents.
The one-bedroom flats with eight garages, have been sold by Stonewater to local provider Eastlands Homes Partnership Ltd, part of One Manchesterwhich owns and manages 12,000 properties across central, east and south Manchester.
“Hamilton Lodge is the only social housing scheme we own in Manchester and it’s a long way from our closest office in Bristol,” says Nicholas Harris, Stonewater Chief Executive Designate. “We felt customers would benefit if the property was managed by a more locally based housing provider. One Manchester is ideally placed to manage these flats and provide Hamilton Lodge customers with a responsive, efficient and high quality service that will deliver good value for money.”
Dave Williams, Director of Assets and Growth at One Manchester said: “As the new landlord, it’s important for us to spend time getting to know residents and introducing ourselves - particularly members of our communities team who will be providing a wide range of services to tenants. Being a local provider means we can be on hand and accessible for their needs.

Hamilton Lodge is the second stock transfer Stonewater has completed in the Greater Manchester area this year. In July the housing provider transferred Holly Bank, a development of nine flats in Ashton-under-Lyne, to local social landlord New Charter Homes for £210,000.
