We are proud to be supporting Greater Manchester’s response to homelessness with the ‘A bed every night’ campaign. The initiative aims to offer a bed to anyone who is homeless in the region from November until March.
All local authorities in Greater Manchester’s ten boroughs are involved in the campaign with the help of their staff and resources. Charities, the public sector, and the faith sector have also committed to making it happen and have found more places to host emergency night shelters (e.g. churches). This campaign is more than just a bed, with the aim of finding more accommodation options for after March.
There are lots of ways you can offer your help and support including donating items, money or volunteering your time. Visit the Street Support website.
We will provide updates about how we are supporting the A Bed Every Night campaign in the coming months.
What else are we doing to help homelessness?
We are also part of the Greater Manchester Homes Partnership working with ‘entrenched rough sleepers’ as part of a Government-funded programme. This aims to help 200 rough sleepers in Greater Manchester start a new life off the streets. Read more about the work in this news story.
