December saw the launch of a brand new placed-based giving project - Step Up.
Initially running in the Ancoats/Beswick and Clayton/Openshaw council wards, Step Up aims to increase giving (whether time, skills or money) in the local community to support community projects led by local people.Projects that we will support will focus on improving the overall health and wellbeing of the community.
Projects already being supported include:
- Keep Youth Work Alive in Beswick
- A potential new creative arts project for Openshaw
- A dementia project creating welcoming meeting places in local community cafes in Clayton.
Paul Kelly, Step Up Project Coordinator says,
“If you’ve got a great idea but need some help to make it happen, we can work with you. We can offer expert support, 1-2-1 mentoring and the opportunity to showcase your project, so please get in touch.”
Maybe there’s something you have always wanted to set up in your community, if so contact firstname.lastname@example.org or go to the website www.stepmcr.org.
