Our commitment to inclusion
Equality, diversity and inclusion is in our DNA.
One Manchester has long acknowledged the inequalities in our society and the damage they do to individuals, communities and the nation as a whole and is committed to being a part of the solution.
It’s important to us as an organisation that we keep listening to our customers and the people who live in our communities so we can understand them better and evolve our services to make sure they fit our customers’ needs.
We know that we work in some of the most multicultural communities in the region, and we believe our communities should be celebrated, as they are in projects such as our Community Soup funding initiative and through our On Top of the World project, which looks at the experiences of those living in hi-rise tower blocks.
Our dedicated Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy has been created with these things in mind. The purpose of our strategy is to make sure that we continue to keep equality, diversity and inclusion at the heart of everything we do. The strategy begins by saying:

Through being guided by this strategy, and by demonstrating our commitment in our ways of working, by having a skilled, diverse and inclusive workforce, and a governance body that reflects the communities we serve, we can be certain that we’re doing all we can to remain an equal, diverse and inclusive employer and provider.
But the most important thing we can do to ensure we live and breathe equality, diversity and inclusion, is to listen to you, our customers and communities, and learn from you.
