COVID-19 Update on One Manchester Services 

Unfortunately, the situation in relation to COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to impact on our daily lives and like many other organisations we find ourselves having to take additional steps to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our customers, communities and our colleagues. These are challenging times for everyone, and it requires some very difficult decisions to be taken which are outlined in the update below. 

We want to reassure you that we are still here to support you in any way that we can. We are working closely with our housing colleagues and the authorities and community groups across Manchester in the collective efforts to provide support and critical services for those who need them most. 

If you are struggling, please get in touch so that we can help and guide you to the support that is available. We also want to reassure you that we are not pursuing evictions until further notice during this period, so you can be assured that you will not lose your home. We’re working closely with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to identify those affected who find themselves out of work or in financial difficulty to offer our support.  

Repairs Service 

As of Monday 23 March, we will only be offering emergency repairs for anything inside the home until further notice. We will continue with essential gas and electrical testing appointments, as well as any emergency works, as these are critical to ensure your safety. We will continue as much as possible with any external works where entry into your home is not needed.  

Our repairs teams will be contacting our customers to cancel any routine repairs appointments where the repair is required inside your home from next week onwards. We know that this will cause some frustration, but we believe that it is the right and sensible thing to do to protect everyone and reduce unnecessary contact, in line with Government guidance on social distancing. 

Customer receptions and community buildings  

As per our update yesterday in order to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our customers and colleagues, we have taken the decision to close all our premises to customers for the foreseeable future. We’re working with Public Health England to ensure we support our colleagues and customers and are following all government recommended guidelines.

If you or your household are isolating 

As always, the health, safety and wellbeing of our customers and colleagues is the most important thing, and so if you’re feeling unwell and are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19, which includes a high temperature, or you are coughing repeatedly, you should follow the latest NHS guidance, which you can find here. You should only call 111 if you cannot cope with your symptoms, your condition gets worse or your symptoms do not get better after 7 days. 

We ask that any residents or customers that are currently self-isolating to inform us before any visits to their home.
