In March this year, Liz Prestbury, our Project Coordinator for Energy and Sustainability, and Dean Myers from our Assets Team picked up the Silver Award for One Manchester.
We're proud to receive this award, alongside the other great organisations across Manchester who are demonstrating increased commitment to acting on climate change, supporting their Carbon Literate staff in taking action, and sharing knowledge and best practice around Carbon Literacy within their sector or locality.
The award comes after we worked hard in training 186 members of staff (over 50% of our workforce), educating them about this impact their everyday life has on the wellbeing of the planet.
The Carbon Literacy Project enables employers, educators and communities to empower their people to act on climate change through a day’s worth of action-based learning. It has been recognised by the UN and works across seven nations from its base in Manchester.
