As your landlord, we have an obligation to ensure your building and the communal areas within it comply with fire safety regulations. This includes making sure in the event of an emergency that everyone must be able to escape quickly and safely and the emergency services can carry out their duties. Communal areas include stairways, lifts, landings, communal cupboards and hallways.
Items such as mobility scooters, buggies, bikes, household waste and furniture can cause obstructions to escape routes.
